Thank you for venturing in. This page assumes you have no idea what any of this webcomic stuff is, or how it works.

What is a webcomic?

In this case it’s a gothic story told in words and pictures. It reads like a book in the sense that any given page starts at the top left and heads for the bottom right, although the precise route may vary. Speech turns up in bubbles, narration in boxes, and hopefully everything else speaks for itself. (If it doesn’t please tell us!)

It’s free to read, and new pages are added to it twice a week. If enough people like it, then it will become a graphic novel.

How do I follow it?

You can stop by any time it suits you and catch up that way – we add new pages Mondays and Fridays. If you want to be sure of not missing them, go here – http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=HopelessMaine&loc=en_US and sign up. We won’t use your email address for anything other than new pages.

For those wise in the ways of RSS there’s http://feeds2.feedburner.com/HopelessMaine

If you are not technically minded, the email option is the easier one.

If you want to keep track of other things we are doing, then sign up for our weekly newsletter – http://groups.yahoo.com/group/copperage

What is it all about?

The ‘About Hopeless’ link will tell you all about the island setting. ‘Cast’ will tell you about the character scurrently present in the story. All else will be revealed as we go along. As there are plenty of twists and turns in the plot, we don’t want to leave any spoilers lying around.

Are you selling anything?

Yes, we have a store link, you can buy t-shirts and other goodies.

I am still confused.

That’s ok, so are we. If you are struggling with any aspect of the site, just leave a comment here and we’ll do our best to assist you.
